I am a rag doll.

I've been hammered by various viruses, illnesses, and general decrepitude for the better part of 8 months now and I'm utterly physically exhausted. Mentally I've been going in Warp Nine, and anyone paying any attention knows I've been devoured by BBC's "Sherlock." I've also seen STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS, which hasn't eaten my brain in the same way ( Read more... )

Let's see, recently had a 3 week fibroflare, spent a chunk of Saturday mowing the lawn and exhausting myself, and have a weekend stay with my mother to dread in June. But you're right, Star Trek Into Darkness was amazing!

Oh, and have you seen a doctor? Sounds like your immune system could use a boost.

I see doctors all the damn time. We're doing everything right, more or less, but viruses are what they are, and once you get pneumonia (September), shit cascades down for a while. The decrepitude is just all the warranties running out. Spine=45-50 years, knee=45-50 years, hands.....you get the idea.

How is your mother? How long is she staying?

Sorry, fibro-memory - or lack thereof. I forgot you'd had pneumonia. Mom has a persistent MRSA infection in her foot. She's got a new doc, and he seems to be on the ball - got her on good meds, running EKG and chest x-ray just for safety. She's not coming here, I'm going there. Sue needs a break, and her college reunion is at the end of May. None of my other lovely siblings were speaking up, so I did. I did make it plain that it was contingent on having someone as a backup, in case I go into a flare. My brother Chris is doing that. And in fairness, he and his wife and kids have come up to Columbus several times, including this past weekend, to help Sue with house maintenance.

Oh, MRSA, jfc, that stuff is evil. Sam has an occasionally recurring one that we treat pretty aggressively when it shows up, but we can't seem to completely kill it (and it's in a sensitive spot, poor boy).

Ah, I see. Good luck with Mom, I'm sure she's a handful!
