So, lately I have been trying to fill the guilty pleasure reality television void in my life that has been left by the absence of Project Runway and America's Next Top Model. I have been giving the new season of Top Chef a test run because everybody seems to be really into it, but I have to say, I haven't been super into it so far. For one thing,

haven't seen Top Chef, but I am a pretty big fan of Iron Chef if I can catch it. At least there's some suspense involved and the presentations are pretty creative. Another food show I get a kick out of is Good Eats, because it just nerds out on the science of food, for example, why you can't put water in with melting chocolate, or why do you clean different vegetables different ways. (Did you know, it's better to give fresh spinach a bath than a shower?)

So...are you looking specifically for a reality contest format? Because I totally love "L.A. Ink." Which is weird, because I pretty much think tattoos are totally grody. But if you're looking for a contest, Dave and I are super stoked on this new Ashton Kutcher / Tyra Banks show that's getting ready to start - "Inner Beauty," I think its called. It looks like it will be amazing in a train-wreck sort of way.
