Why "Gunderstrak" as a replacement? I'm curious. :)

Yes, it's mine... "Gunderstrak" was in the same book, and it was the only name I could remember from it. It was the name of a Norse knight's horse. The protagonist of the book comments that it's a fine name, sounding something like "lightning strike", and the Norse knight laughs and informs him that it actually means "vomiting fit". Norse knights, apparently, commonly gave their horses names like this.
