"Surviving in Horror" is an excellent episodic series, and I heartily desire for it to be visible on Amazon!

All parts have been thumbsed-up and a review has been posted!

Hey! I’m not here often but I do care, and I was happy to get a notification saying you’d posted an entry.

Actually, this is eerily timely because I’ve been chatting to ByteDance (owners of TikTok) about a new English web novel (ie serialised fiction) platform they’re trying to get off ground. It’s called Fictum. It seems like they, and now Amazon, are trying to emulate the immense success of Chinese web novels like Mo Dao Zu Shi.

It seems like Kindle Vella is only available in the US, but I’m curious how you would rate it compared to Fictum? Because frankly, Fictum sounds really predatory and exploitative, from what I’ve seen so far. :/

The Kindle Vella rules are pretty similar to the regular Kindle rules. I can, if I want, at any point remove my story and publish it elsewhere. You own your own rights and your own story and change change or delete or update it however you please. Of course, you also have to do all the work and marketing yourself.

I've read Korean, Japanese, and Chinese web novels. Their biggest problem is they degrade in quality pretty quickly due to being pumped out rapidly. I refuse to let that happen to mine, and I'm not forced to, either.

So I wouldn't say it's predatory at all. Might not lead to any success at all either, of course. But if it keeps me writing a little longer . . .

Thank you so much for looking out for me! I don't always know these things.
