Most of my postings are friends-only. So since I don't really know you you can't read them. Also, I don't reply to stuff when I don't see a need to reply. :P

I do have enough friends. I post "Welcome stranger!" because considering how many lj-users there are and how many lj-friends I have chances are that I don't know them.
"Some of my lj-postings are only visible for my lj-friends." That's to clarify that the postings you see are not all the postings there are.
"Comment on this and I might add you." See the "might"? If I would be desperate for friends I would have said "[...]and I will add you". As opposed to the majority of the lj-community I do not add everyone who wants to be added. I only add people I already now well enough. I'm very picky when it comes to chosing friends.

And I find it amazing how you can tell how many friends from my lj. (*hint* Compare the number of lj users to the world population. *hint*)
