Saga! [Oliver immediately runs over to him. he hasn't forgotten what he felt the last time he saw Saga, but his fear of what he knows is probably happening doesn't stop him from wanting to help] Hang on!

[Oliver nods because Saga wants the acknowledgement. he's moving without thinking of moving, heading off to carry out his orders. his new Puppeteer is pulling his strings just as expertly as the last, except this time there is no corner of him mind where he can pull together the thoughts to scream. for the moment, Oliver hardly exists]

[but that part of him with the power of a god knows what's happening now. his shreds of consciousness have put two and two together, and it doesn't take much thought to rebel against this--exactly what he's most afraid of in the entire universe. there is nothing he would fight harder, and right now, Oliver has the strength of a god. it only takes moments before he slams against the penumbra in his mind with all of that will and force coalesced into one simple thought: NO]

[He laughs louder, completely satisfied and amused with his new "toy".] Now my dear puppet, do as I say and kill whoever dares to face me!

[oliverplus]

[for a moment, Oliver is still moving according to Saga's orders. but as that thought hits the penumbra, it breaks through. Saga will feel the connection between them shatter, and Oliver stumbles, falling to his knees as he unexpectedly regains control. for a moment, he's too stunned to react, staring up at Saga in a mixture of shock and horror as he tries to comprehend what has just happened]

[When Saga senses the shattering of his own technique because of Oliver's willpower, he can't help but look at Oliver with shock and horror.] Impossible... How did he...? No one had been able to escape from my Genro Mao Ken before!

[oliverplus]

[Oliver stares back, his own shock and horror mixing with what he feels from Saga, but he quickly snaps himself out of it. there's no time to worry about how or why now; he just can't let Saga do something like that again. he quickly gets to his feet--too quickly, in fact. he's used his powers to improve his own reflexes without really meaning to]

Saga, you're better than this. If I can get free, you can!

[traitorsaint]

[Grits his teeth in anger. He's not going to let a mere mortal God-like wannabe humiliate him like this.] SHUT UP! [Sends him a golden beam of energy.]

[oliverplus]

[Oliver is expecting it this time. a wall of energy immediately springs up between him and Saga. it's similar--or, at least, as close as Oliver's memory can come--to the energy wall used in prison cells on the planet Kanatom. he only hopes it's enough to block the attack]

[traitorsaint]

[The beam collides against the wall, just to disappear after a few seconds. Saga runs to him fiercely with a fist directly to his face.]

[oliverplus]

[Oliver's eyes widen, and he disappears, reappearing several steps to the right of where he was just standing. he's a little disoriented, though, and turns, trying to work out where Saga is now] Saga, listen to me! Don't do this!

[traitorsaint]

[Using the Plane's trick, he uses it to appear behind Oliver and knock him down with a powerful kick.]

[oliverplus]

[Oliver is only human, and that kick sends him sprawling. he skids on the slick floor of the Plane, but he immediately uses his abilities so that he's standing again--though aching with pain. he tries to catch Saga's gaze, knowing he's not going to enjoy the emotions he feels if he succeeds, but it's all he can think of to do to get through to the Saga inside. and while he'll defend himself, he has no desire to fight back] Saga, listen!

[traitorsaint]

[Regards Oliver and smirks at him with a threatening face.] You are just a stupid and weak mortal.

[oliverplus]

[Oliver forces himself not to look away in the face of all that negative emotion, though Saga's dark feelings hurt him more than the kick did] And you're stronger than this! Saga!

[he wishes, more than anything, that he could find the other Saga through all of that hatred and anger and greed. he wants to feel the gentleness, the caring--the Saga he knows. and as he wishes for that, Oliver unconsciously begins to use his ability in a way that was not possible before he received the powers of a god. he is attempting to literally shift Saga's emotions from negative to positive. the question now is, will it work when Saga is also a god?]
