[It's not at all strange to find people in the library. In fact, it might be the most normal, mundane activity a character can do. Aster is one of the people who enjoys sitting and reading for hours on end, researching every little thing he can get his hands on.
So it's not at all strange to find piles of books, nearly resembling a fort, in an

Richter maneuvers through the book fort at this own pace, stopping occasionally to take a look at what his friend was doing before continuing. He stops with a sigh once Aster's voice drifts down from higher up]
Somehow, I'm not surprised...
Aster!

Just what are you trying to research?
[okay, so he almost lost his grip on that one book but it's all cool. No injuries to half-elf, books or book fort here... He's getting too old for these shenanigans]

[He neglects to mention that Richter's core is his current research project. His notes are scattered about so it might be difficult for him to realize what Aster is studying at this time.
Pretty soon, all the books are down and Aster smiles cheerfully.]
Fantastic!

[he places the last book on the no-longer-small stack he was using and turns his full attention back to Aster]
The ladder is a few aisles down and, unless you feel like having me catch you as well, I'll have to go grab that. [and Richter points in the general direction that he last saw the ladder. Hopefully, no one's moved it somewhere else while he was catching the books]

[Which is half true. He has settled on a few topics, but even he can't help getting distracted with everything around him. At that last comment, he decides to tease Richter a little. If only to get that grumpy look off his face. At some point on their journey, Aster probably did trip and nearly fall.]
It wouldn't be the first time you've caught me.

[he stays silent for a moment before sighing. You can probably see his tsun annoyed expression from the top of the shelves]
Aster...
[turns away;] I'm going to go grab the ladder. Don't fall while I'm gone.

[At that expression, he continues smiling. Not pleased with himself, but content that he had at least stopped frowning. To prove that he's fine, he simply waves and goes back to his cross-legged position to overlook the edge.

I won't. Don't worry. I would have to move around quite a bit to fall over.
[He could certainly manage it though.]

There.

[Look at how happy he sounds. Wasn't it worth it?]
Okay, I'm coming down now.

There's a quiet 'hm' but not much else. There really wasn't much Richter could say now, was there? (Other than 'you're welcome' but that was implied)]

Richter! Did you see this?

Aster, is this really the time? [he looks up again] And no, I didn't see that book.
[Richter's tall, but he's not that tall]

[He's dead serious too. Poor Richter. One day he'll be sorry for putting him through such ridiculousness. After browsing the shelf, he finally climbs down the rest of the ladder with that book still in hand.]

I'll just be glad neither you, the ladder nor the book took the fall then. [though he is a bit curious-]
So what kind of 'new knowledge' caught your attention this time?

If their 'fonon' is different from our 'mana' then it might be exciting. Difference places some times have different names for the same thing.
[but he's still trying to read over your shoulder, so it can't be that dis-interesting]
