-03- Gundam Pilot's new clothes.

[Those two little bastards were insistent. Duo had been cast in some new scenario, some new world and he was in the process of investigating why he was the emperor of some exotic land some thousands of years ago--whenever. When two charlatans appeared before his court Duo was quick to hand them a deal. New clothes? 'Sure. Go for it.' he ( Read more... )

[Aziraphale's drawn in by the commotion at the bar. The cursing makes him wrinkle his nose a bit, but it's quite apparent the boy is in distress, and Aziraphale's never one to turn away from someone who - ah. Oh, dear. He politely averts his eyes.]

Er. Are you in need of assistance?

[The answer may be obvious, but Aziraphale asks anyway. Perhaps his lack of clothing is intentional and he's distressed for some other reason; he can't be certain in this place.]

[Assistance? Does he need... Of course he does. He moves around the bar.] Look, pal. Unless you don't mind letting me borrow some pants... Can I get a sheet or something?

[Ah, so it is indeed the lack of clothing that's the problem.]

Certainly, dear boy.

[He gestures with one hand at the bar, still not looking, and a pair of gray slacks and a white shirt appear on the bar.]

Might I ask what happened?

[A nudist would not be the strangest thing to come to this place, he imagines. He sees the clothing appear on the counter and swipes em, pulling the slacks on, then the shirt. It took a moment for him to collect his thoughts.]

I got pulled back to my... A verse, with the people I know all there, right?

Medieval age. It was crazy.

[When the boy begins speaking again, he chances a look over, and smiles at finding him perfectly decent. His brows furrow at his words, however.]

You were forced into a reality not your own, but populated with people you know? Good heavens. Were you able to get back here on your own?

Pretty much.

[He pauses, looking down as he searches for the right trivial bit of knowledge.]

Are you familiar with 'The Emperor's New Clothes'? Cause that's what it was like.

I am indeed. I've several different versions, though the original booklet is likely the best. Quite a fellow, Hans, you know, he-

[He stops himself from rambling further, as he's reasonably certain the boy has other, more important things on his mind.]

Ah. And that's how you lost your clothes?

[Duo crooked a brow as this guy mentioned Hans. The author? He pulls at the collar.]

Yeah. Pretty much. Suddenly I show up and I'm a king and these two bastards tell me they want to make me clothes... I'm too busy trying to get back here to care so I give them a go ahead...

[He sighs.] Sooo if there game was to humiliate me they won. [His hands go up behind his head.] Oh well.

So what's this about Hans? you gonna tell me you know this guy?

Yes, that does sound like the tale. A strange thing to come up with, forcing someone to live through a fairy tale. I suppose it may be one of those 'experiments' I keep hearing about?

[He blinks at the question.]

Er. Well, not necessarily know. Met a few times, really, though he did sign a copy of Fairy Tales Told for Children for me. Quite a lovely gathering, that was, Lady Gardiner was a wonderful hostess.

[He smiles a bit at the memory.]

[So was guy old like Crowley or just from that era? The magic seemed to suggest the former, and he was more surprised now that he didn't react as strongly to the clothing appearing like that as he did.]

Must be. It's insane. We really are just here for their amusement, aren't we? [And that bothered him.]

Really? That's actually kinda cool.

By the way. The name's Duo. And thanks for the clothes.

Yes, it would seem so. [He's frowning, now, obviously not happy with the idea himself.] I can't imagine much of what I've seen, or heard, would have a purpose beyond someone's entertainment.

[He brightens a little at that. "Cool" isn't generally something people used to describe him. Possibly because it's only recently that he's even learned what that word meant.]

Is it? Why, thank you.

Oh, you're most welcome, dear boy. I'm Aziraphale, always happy to be of assistance.

You said it. [He agreed wholeheartedly.] I don't really think I have any reason to trust them. Maybe they just set everything here the way it is to make us complacent.

[This guy certainly had style, that was for sure. He offers a small smile of appreciation and waves.] Sure. You care to get a drink quick? Otherwise, I'm gonna head on out.
