Reflecting reflections

[A blond young man in a green tunic and cream coat is seated by one of the ponds near the forest. He's just looking at the water, one knee drawn up, the other leg stretched out. One hand rests on the raised knee, the other is behind him, bracing him as he admires the view ( Read more... )

[There's a few reasons why Richter returns to the Plane time and time again. Aster was at the forefront of them (and he always will be the beginning and end of all Richter does) but the one that follows closely is the simple fact that staring at that surreal and unsettling red all the time drove the half-elf up the wall. With eyes closed or opened, the fact of the matter was that red dominated everything in the Ginunngagap.

With an eternity to while away, what harm was it if Richter occasionally stepped onto the Plane for a breather?

What he doesn't expect is to run into that one blond that had struck up a conversation with him in the kitchen. Stopping near the treeline, Richter contemplates whether dropping off the Plane would be preferable or not... But the sight of the stars in and on water draws his attention and he stops to just take in the view.

Hope you don't mind some quiet company]

Guy doesn't seem to mind at all, if he even notices Richter. It seems, for a while, like he doesn't, just enjoying the view, way the occasional ripple across the water's surface distorts the stars and makes the whole thing that much more surreal.]

[After a time he eases himself back a little, not looking at Richter.]

It's really something, isn't it?

[there's a quiet, contemplative hum in response to Guy's question]

It's strangely nostalgic.

['strange' because such a sight would be impossible anywhere on Aselia (on Tethe'alla) yet Richter couldn't help it. This view, the sight of the stars, the trees and the water, reminded him of--]

So what brought you here?

Remind you of something?

[Guy's question is just innocently curious. He gives Richter a friendly, calm smile.]

Just enjoying the view I guess. What about you?

[in a soft and melancholy tone;] A reminder is all it is.

[he takes a moment to brush hair out of his face and while the core on his forehead glints slightly in the starlight, Richter couldn't bring himself to care at the moment. A few seconds of silence pass before the half-elf puts himself back together enough to reply, his voice back to normal]

Looking for a change in scenery. This is the only other place I can go for that.

[Guy watches Richter, curious about that response. It's a little reminiscent of Dist. Imprisonment, maybe? It seems a little personal, he can't decide whether to ask or not.]

You know if you want a change of scenery, you can ask someone to show you their world. That's bound to be interesting in itself.

Isn't that reckless?

[the brief silence undermined Richter's accusing tone; his interest had definitely been piqued. Different worlds? Who wouldn't be interested in such a thing? Though Richter had left Sybak behind him, he couldn't ignore his curiosity in the same way]
