[The ever-present stars refuse to shine through the inky dark substance that seeps out of every shadow and every crevice of the Plane. It pools and gathers around a single silhouette. Tendrils of dark energy seem to coat the humanoid shape, or perhaps they're part of it; they rise from the monster like wisps of steam. Those who know him might

He has no questions, no desire to try talking to this monstrosity. He heard all he needed to hear already. He comes up behind Emil, with no hesitation, and swings.]

What are you doing?
[His voice is forceful, sarcastic, and mocking.]
Hahahahah... hahaha! I think I see it. You just want my power, don't you? You're just another insect! What the hell do you think you're even worth!?
[The darkness ripples again, then lets out a squelch as it forms a line of icy pillars, trying to impale the keyblader where he stands.]

I couldn't care less about your power. [Faint smirk] I just don't like the way you look.
[He rushes in again, a flurry of slashes and strikes, mostly aimed at his face. He expects full retaliation from the dark spirit, but he's ready.]

[Another barrier appears without hesitation. It's like the darkness itself is an extension of Emil's will. That should not be surprising. He parries each one of Riku's blows tirelessly, then waits for an opening to kick the keywielder back.]
Humans are worthless. Half-elves are worthless. All of you need to die!

...Emil? [He doesn't want to believe it. In fact, having met Aster already, he'll take just about any excuse not to believe it.]

[And then it's replaced with a level red glare and a terrible grin.]
You.

Emil! You have to fight it! [He's searching those red eyes for any further sign of the Emil he knows. Little bro...]

[The shadows hiss and convulse. He drops to a crouch, but that doesn't make him seem any smaller-- more like a cat waiting to pounce.]
I remember. Even if you don't. I remember!
[Suddenly, two tentacle-like extensions of darkness sweep from the floor, trying to knock Botta around.]

He may be a genius, but most people would probably call him an idiot now. Aster doesn't bother to hide. There's no point to it. With a serious, but concerned tone, he says]
Emil.

Why aren't you running?

[At that moment, he realizes just how powerful this entity is. There had been power before when he was killed on the spot, but this is different. It's everything he wanted to prevent right in front of his eyes. Still, even though his brain tells him to run, his feet stay firmly planted on the ground.]
What are you doing this for? So many people could be harmed. You have to stop this!
[Not to mention the negative effects that have yet to be seen. Rampaging summon spirit? Probably not good for the worlds that meet here.]

[There's something distinctly wrong with his manner, though, like he's struggling. A soft uncertainty warring with the ideals of the creature he's become.]
Yeah, that's right. I'm a protector... the guardian of...
[He shakes his head fiercely.]
Of course they could be harmed! It's what they deserve.

What-
[while he draws his weapons without hesitation, the fact that he doesn't immediately attack gives away his uncertainty. Richter's voice goes from uncertain to determined]
Emil? ... Or are you Ratatosk?

How many times do you have to kill me before you're satisfied, half-elf?
[He spreads his great, terrible wings and lets out a low laugh.]
Maybe I should repay the favor.

You can try all you like. I won't let myself be killed by the likes of you.
[Richter raises his weapons. And even if he was doing his best to keep calm, there was one thing that troubled him...]
Though I have one question; what have you done with Emil?
Reply
[His voice turns mocking. He raises his arm and his sword with it, the ambient light catching the blood and... whatever else caked on the blade.]
Isn't that what you wanted?

He looks up as the Doctor approaches. Those eyes are definitely... uh, different. But the voice is... creepy as hell, but definitely cranky!Emil.]
Why do you save them?
Reply
Because everyone deserves a chance to live.
Reply
The last time I gave them that chance, they ruined it all. They took everything from me. Why do they deserve to live?
