[ddd][log] Better The Devil You Know Than The Devil You Don't

[It's not every day that angels suddenly go biblical and then pop back later as if nothing had happened at all. If that were an every day sort of occurrence, perhaps it wouldn't have rattled Crowley's nerves quite so much as it had. As it stood, he still wasn't quite over it, and had to resist eying Aziraphale suspiciously any time he ran into ( Read more... )

[It is a well known fact that tea cures everything except death and taxes. And maybe that metaphor was a bit mixed, but Aziraphale was having a rather bad day, so he could be forgiven for forgetting the mechanics of language. While he waited for the scrolls on his desk to stop smelling like The Nile, he'd grabbed a customary cup of tea, added an uncustomary spiking of brandy, and was well on his way to a better, happier Angelic existence by the minute.]

But there's no harm in looking.]

Yeah, it could have been. At least it was over after a few days, and there wasn't really any permanent damage or anything.

[Meanwhile, Crowley is doing ninety through some extremely crowded streets, more because he can than because he's in any sort of hurry to get anywhere. There's something in the shop.

Something not angelic...]

[The something angelic takes a sip of tea and nods, blissfully aware that there's a demon parking outside the shop.]

No permanent damage except the kind already there, as a matter of fact.
