i hope you don't mind me asking, but i've been trying to figure this out for awhile
assuming you used photoshop,
how did get an image to fit inside of another (ie: damon/ian in the first one)?

i hope this isn't a bother, but out of all that i can do in photoshop, this just isn't one of them

About the question. If I get it right: under the layer with the picture you want to "cut" you draw on another layer the shape or text you want your picture was cut with. Select the main upper layer and press Ctrl+Alt+G. That is! I'm not a good tutor, so if it doesn't work or something is not really understandable feel free to ask!
