My Dad's been using this argument for years. Had he been a lawyer, as yours was, I probably would have shot back with:

"Does that line stand up in court, then?"

But then, my survival has never depended on my smart mouth.

How did we all end up with the same dad? Among other things, finally getting a job in my chosen field means I no longer have to explain, for the umpteenth time, that museum registrars and curators are different things.

God yes. However for involved reasons that I shan't burden you with I can't use his car and he lives a 20 minute drive from the middle of nowhere which is a further 45 minute drive from the hill. If he ain't going, I ain't going. Which truly sucks because that hill has this crazy Friday night deal where I could rent a board and ride for four hours for under $20, tax included.
