I think it is sad that there are people in this world that are that full of hate. I don't understand how someone can go through life thinking that way.
it's sick. people are taught a low level of prejudice pretty commonly, and can overcome that if they choose, but this is the point where it becomes full-blown delusion. i remember in high school, some talk show was on with KKK members, and my mom was like 'those people are sick, they're ill.' she's right.
Everyone but white people have their own homelands
That's right. The Native Americans still have their own... oh wait. And there are no whites in Afric--oh, whoops. *sigh* Idiot. The world is mixed--not just the US.
That doesn't sound like supremacy, merely a desire for less efforts at integration. While I still don't agree with it, it's a *far* better attitude than racism.
.........that's not racism? wow. um. you're wrong. that's all their is to it. it IS white supremacy, a pretty high level of racism, and it kind of disturbs me that you can't see it.
Go look at http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/racism. He certainly doesn't fit either of the first two definitions. It maybe fits the 3rd, though I think the author is more intolerant of policies that have been put in place than of different races.
But yes, to be more accurate I should have said 'white supremacy' at the end of my comment instead of racism.
This whole homeland idea is what I find compelling, and how the writer seems to think that he is entitled to the US as a homeland. This "need" for an ethnic homeland creates more trouble than it is worth, and generally ends up with a ton of dead folks (Israel is one of the touchy examples of creating an ethnic homeland that kinda went blooey, but also kinda works).
What really engages me with this way of thinking is that, at some point, whether you believe in science or theology, we are all related, and all seem to come from the same geographical origin. We all have a homeland, and it's this great big orb that's rolling through space. Either we all share and play nice, or someone's gonna get a permanent time-out.
I "like" how the writer tries to sound like he's not a bigot by hiding behind this desire for an ethnic homeland.
Also, Kelly, I added you as a friend. I don't know what the process is to add me, but Robyn might be able to help with that. Thanks for having me.
I like how he thinks that white people are the ones entitled to call the Americas a homeland. AFAIK there's not one indigenous group in all of the Americas that was white.
