I've been getting some stick from a couple of relatives for the fact that my wedding is going to be friends-oriented rather than family-oriented. What they don't understand, and I can't tell them without causing rows, is that the family I joined in Aber is like nothing I'd known before.

I assume that this blog post is inspired by this one.

On a related tangent: one of the things I miss about life back in Aber was how much time people seemed to have to "blog off" one another. I used to be able to pop up my RSS reader on almost any given day and see two or more blog posts that related to one another, like yours and Adam's just did. Now we're all less in-your-face in each other's lives the crossovers aren't so great, and many of us - even me - blog a lot less freqently than we used to anyway.

On the other hand, I don't have the same kind of (almost sickening) nostalgia, I think, that Adam does. I think it's all about perspective.

Perhaps I'll blog about it.
