You ask her for something to identify a "boot and nuke" USB you just built to destroy a retiring PC HDD. Instead of a card tag or somesuch with "probably best not put this in things you don't intend to kill" sort of message, I got this.

Surely "boot and nuke" would be the expected correct order?

Also: who the fuck boots from an unidentified USB without checking it first? Do these people exist? Are their root passwords all "password"?

Also... 2GB? What're you using to perform the wipe, a full install of Windows Vista? (although if you're after destroying computers, Vista is my tool of choice)

I suppose pen drives are so cheap now that you might as well. I used a 16GB as an Ubuntu install drive the other month, so I can't really criticise!

Have you seen these new 1TB SSDs? Scary stuff. If we only made them a little smaller, we'd have 1TB pen drives...

You don't get cheaper than free ;)

I didn't pay for this little one, it had served its original purpose fine, and this its its new one. The actual program would need 32mb usb. Doubt anyone has made one of them for nearly a decade!
