The council decided to cancel its official light switch on this year. There was going to be entertainment, food stalls and a market as well as the lights going on for this Christmas. Never a good time of year to organise anything, the Aussies have the right idea - we should all celebrate Christmas in the summer. :¬)

What a disappointment for all the vendors. I hope they will be able to make up the business elsewhere. I’m not a huge fan of all the Christmas commercialism, but I understand that it is crucial to the survival of many small and independent sellers of all kinds.
