There seem to be fewer people putting lots of decorations outside their houses this year. Talking to someone else they had noticed the same and thought it was because of the pre-Christmas storms we had last year and this had caused too much damage to what they had outside ( Read more... )

And where would you store it once the holidays are over? I have almost no decorations because I refuse to store anything that doesn’t fit into a single trunk.

There are even more lights around the village this year - it is very cheerful, and we are all pretty good at fastening things down so some of them even remained on throughout Storm Bert.

I have noticed some of the outdoor lights and decorations were being adversely affected by the wind last night as i commuted to work. I'll see how many have been restored or taken down as I go to work tonight.

I suppose if you are rich and have a big house it might be an ideal decoration, especially if you are fond of the Nutcracker.
