You're not a loser, that is just the way of life sometimes. My roommate from last year also moved in with new roommates, but she still talks to me sometimes and a lot of times it isn't the roommate but the dorm atmosphere that drives people away. I think also some people are just too stuck on old friends to make new ones. You're not a loser.
