LOOK AT THESE FINE MEN.
Now, allow me to introduce you to the more anal side of myself. The side that has not only endured multiple hours of colour theory in school, but also has a taste for the aesthetically pleasing skin tones of those two gentlemen pictured above. As you can tell, both are rather pale. Darren Criss has stated that he has Irish and Asian lineage and while Chris Colfer's background is lost on me I'm still quite sure there's some European something shoved in his genetics. Maybe French.
Now the reason this bothers me! Is because I feel like the only person on the planet that realizes that Darren is not grey, nor tan. There's not even the slightest bit of tan to him. Hell, when flash hits him the guy has a porcelain glow that rivals Snow White. So why on this Earth is he portrayed as hispanic in most art? Not that that is the route the artist was going for, but I've seen pictures where they even go so far as to paint him a honey brown and it makes no fucking sense.
So please hear me out fanart artists of this fandom. I love your work. Really. I adore it. But please remember the colour spectrum. Try to use common sense. Stop painting the man a light grey because everyone. Else. Does. There's beauty in a light complexion, too. You don't need to alter his skintone to show a difference between himself and Chris. TRUST ME. THEY ARE SO DIFFERENT IN EVERYTHING.
LOOK AT THAT HOBBIT. THOSE EYEBROWS. SERIOUSLY.
