This morning, when I plodded to the bathroom in Eliazo, the floor was strewn with wings. The tile, at its best days, is dubiously clean. Today, however, the corpses of thousands of bugs were at my feet, on the sinks and inside the shower stalls. As I brushed my teeth, I saw a lone, wingless survivor getting systematically killed by a troop of ants
