Dragon Ball Z movie...

So. It is in my not-so-humble opinion that Dragonball Z, um, sucks. You know, really sucks.
A movie based off it could surely be distilled suck, as the average live action adaptation of an animated series must, by default, be.

As it so happens, I quite liked the unedited Japanese original versions of DBZ.. you know, where the characters often got impaled or had limbs torn off, and where the action sequences were consequently longer (so it didn't seem like each episode was one long Mexican stand off, followed by five seconds of violence).
Also, the series was quite funny in places and generally didn't take itself too seriously.
I mean, Mr Satan? Villians named Bibitty, Bobitty and the dreaded Boo?
He turned people into chocolate and ate them.
The movie, from what I just saw, seems to be taking itself seriously..
Big mistake.
But I may go see it.. if for nothing more than to justify buying yet another large frozen coke.
I love that stuff.

Mostly I'm intruged by it because the guy playing the Chines Master dude also did Bulletproof Monk... which took itself seriously and was awesome in its silleh quotas.

Must admit to getting a little tired of the 'white kid gets taught secret powers of the orient' theme, though. I know it's a standard trope in this stuff, but geez.
