college has been awesome...i am really enjoying everything...Jenna (my roommate) is so incredible. we do practically everything together, its so much fun! i have also met some really cool people, mostly guys which in my case isnt all that different. i love the people i have been hanging around with...i havent gotten to play volleyball in a while,

It's not stupid to care about your looks at all. All humans do. It's your body so how you take care of it and want it to look isn't superficial. And your parents shouldn't treat you differently because of your looks.
That's so cool that you've been having fun; it seems like you've met a crapload of people!
"i have no luck, other than getting to be friends with all of them." That sounds pretty good to me. Friendship is good. Looking at every member of the opposite sex as merely a potential sexual/romantic partner is kind of using them for your own means instead of accepting the way they are and how they feel about you. It's not about just having a boyfriend (object), it's about being with the right person (individual).
