Pins ajar, alleys running,
in bowl o'rama
stares of lust surrounded
my insecure drama.
I felt around blindly
Too much smoke-
I felt crowded
and jaded and lost
I looked for a friend
no matter the cost.

Through the haze
Emo-glasses, a grin.
Smoking p-funks
and trying to lend-
a certain air to parliaments
as if to say
“Don’t be a fool
I am so cool
Be my girl
Sit down now
ontoppa this stool...”

And then you said
real words this time
no fantasy flights
no pick-up lines-
you read my mind:
“Can I buy you a pack?”
you asked so kind.
Is he for real?
A nice person at last?

To give and to give
With no expectations
Laughter and beer
And fun loving faces
It ended too soon
My dear Camel provider
You like no filter
I forgot my lighter
Under your pillow
Amidst the snow
I had to go...

Spring came
No more calls
who's to blame
Here we are,
years gone
it's the same-
Time seems far
away once parted
by miles I now
remember why
I liked your smile...

Last you saw me
I was a child
broken distraught
unable and caught
a little wild
not free

But here I am see
renaissance new
this jubilant me
growing in grace
and wanting to trace
my touch your cheek
wondering about
and searching for you...
