Sleep

My biggest goal for the next couple of months is to revisit the sleep situation and make some major improvements.

The current situation:( Blah, blah, blah )

Maybe it's time to revisit the nightweaning option again? You know about the Jay Gordon method? It does seem that a lot of kids sleep more solidly after the all-night buffet closes. Of course it's no guarantee.

If you do choose to try nightweaning I recommend a water bottle in/near the bed for each toddler to give them an alternative during the transition period.

Let me know how you like the No-Cry book. We're starting to have some issues with actual bedtime (not wanting to go to bed) where we never did before, and might be looking for some fresh ideas.

Fyi, Phaedra always has a sippy thing with water next to her in bed. (looks like this type http://www.amazon.com/Playtex-Coolster-Tumbler-Sippy-Girls/dp/B0011E4HBM) I think we started it when I weaned her (oh, over 3 years ago), and she often drinks from it at night. It might help. Good luck.

That's part of the plan. It's never worked really well with Iris, but I figure it's worth a shot again, especially because I'm always thirsty in the night, so it's something I can empathize with.

I liked the No-Cry book, and it had lots of suggestions about bedtime. The chapter on twins was pretty much useless though. I wish I had read it when Iris was 2 or so and bedtime was really difficult.

I tried the Jay Gordon plan a few months ago, with some success with Zinnia, and no success with Neil. I managed to get Iris nightweaned using it (twice!), but she seemed to wake up just as much, and we went back to nursing at night because that was just easier.
