Indeed. There were other tales of animal wrangling, including when they asked Sophia if they could put a scorpion on her stomach. She said yes, but only if they blindfolded her. I guess it's one thing to have a scorpion on your stomach, and quite another to see a scorpion on your stomach?

As I understand it, a fanniversary is the anniversary of when you first "came out" online as a fan. In this case, it's the ninth anniversary of the first fic I ever posted. A mere blip to some of you, I know, but I figure anything after 7 years is serious. ;-)

Whedoncon sounds very good. Thanks for sharing these behind-the-scenes stories! I love the poolside scene between Spike and Buffy, and in general working on my recent comics-based vid gave me a new appreciation for Jeanty's work.

I think Portland is a wonderful city. It's one of the few US cities I've visited multiple times, because a friend used to live there. Moving there sounds pretty good. (Though of course SF is great too.)

I would say that that scene is probably the most beautiful of the entire series. I reviewed the issue way back when, and forgave the creators for giving Buffy an apartment with a courtyard pool - a thing that does not exist in San Francisco - because of that scene.

Your vid gave me a new appreciation for the artwork in the comics, as well!

Portland is a very livable city. I think I should live there.
