I'm finally getting around to posting my book list and categories for last year. I used the same category list that I did for 2023, and I might keep using it for a while.

2024 Reading Goals of 2024
By an author I've never read before: A Line in the Sand.
By two people: P.S. Longer Letter Later.
Childhood favorite: The Giver.
From Goodwill/secondhand: The Teddy Bear Tree.
Made into a movie: Practical Magic.
Nonfiction book: A Mother's Reckoning.
Over 400 pages: Broken Harbor.
Part of a series: On Top of Concord Hill.
Published in a decade not on my list: Treasure Island.
Published in a year not on my list: Picnic at Hanging Rock.
Sara recommended: Mary Jane.
Second book by an author I've read once: The Signature of All Things.
Set in Texas: Making Friends With Billy Wong.
Set in a non-English-speaking country: Paris in the Present Tense.
Translated from another language: Little French Bistro.
Under 100 pages: Happy Birthday, Josefina.

After I'd met my reading goals, with my adult audiobooks, I moved onto rereading authors that I'd read before, and with my paper childrens books, I decided to read one book from each decade, which was a fun goal. Some were picked at random, some were books that I'd heard of but never actually read, a few were years that weren't on my list, and one was an author reread. Anyway, below is every book I read in 2024 (36 total, average year published 1989), divided into five categories.

And here are some stats from my Excel list where I keep (almost) every book I've read from 2009 to the present. It currently contains 3350 books by 210 authors, average year published 1994. My most-read authors are currently:
11: Ann M Martin. 10: Maud Hart Lovelace. 8: Valerie Tripp, Melissa Wiley. 7: Tana French, Lois Lowry. 6: Kristin Cashore, Laura Lippman. 3: 12 authors. 2: 39 authors.
And this is a list of decades published, by popularity: 2010s: 126. 1990s: 61. 2000s: 49. 1980s: 32. 1970s: 18. 1940s: 10. 1960s: 8. 1950s: 8. 1800s 8. 2020s: 7. 1930s: 3. 1910s: 3. 1920s: 1. 1900s: 1. One of my long-term goals is to eventually read one book for every year of the entire 20th century, but that will take me a long time.
