One thing I love about Severus's character is its ambiguity and inherent flexibility. The portrayal of Snape in fanfiction can be stretched in many different directions and still be enjoyable and believable.

Oookay, so, I was sort of curious to see what kind of activity was going on in your journal, and voilà, look what I found! Being a Snape-person myself, I just have to squee about this post because it's so well put. Not that I don't take any blame re: fanon characterisation (I like occasionally writing ultra-dark Snape! He's fun, especially with Lupin! *clears throatÜ), but HELL YES WOMAN. I found myself nodding vigorously along at your descriptions. Such a good summary of canon Severus!
