Now, instead of hitting the fire alarm and evacuating us all away from the dangerous flames, our sales guys decided to go up a ladder into the roof and put it out themselves. Happy ending (apart from being told off by the fire brigade), but thanks guys for thinking of ( Read more... )

Wowsers! It's good to hear you're still up and about though. :)

(Although it's difficult to classify my current livejournal and life as 'interesting'. :-)

Hmm, maybe I should change my description to 'mundane and hum-drum'? Seriously though, your life is probably more interesting to other people than you think - mostly just cos it will be different to their own.

Good to hear from you :)

Letterboxing rebeccad August 30 2004, 18:09:18 UTC
Letterboxing is a bit like a treasure hunt. People hide tupperware or other sealable plastic boxes (usually) in interesting and out of the way places, and then post clues for other people to find them, usually on the internet. In the box is a stamp which you put in your own log book as proof that you found the box, and a log book which you put your own personal stamp or message in. It's really big in North America, but just starting out here. For more info on letterboxing in NZ, the best place to visit is http://www.psychokiwi.org/letterboxing/nzboxing.htm. You'll see details of our very first letterbox there. I reckon you guys would really enjoy it by the way. It's relatively cheap (just need to buy some plastic boxes in the supermarket shopping for about $3 and a blank notebook), you get to do some cool problem solving, go to places you never knew existed, and you can carve your own stamps out of rubbers and be as artistic as you like. If you're more geeky, like me, there's also GeoCaching. Vaguely similar idea, execpt that the clue is just the coordinates. (for example, there's one at S 36° 44.388 E 174° 44.232, apparently.)

Just gotta get myself a GPS reciever...

Great news about your son becoming a Dad - I hope he's got it all worked out too, but mostly that he and the mother have their heads screwed on and put their baby first! That seems to be what is lacking my my situation...

Good to hear from you :)

Are things any easier now and have you tried banging their heads together---might knock some sense in!! lol
I too hope that Darryl and his ex girlfriend put the baby first and that there is no petty bickering and stuff. I also hope that my sometimes, arrogant son can remember that he is not always right and that he should just listen and say nothing sometimes!!!
