I reckon she means that your face is an honest one, and if a company is smart they will definitely look for someone who is smart, friendly, and with good communication skills. Customer service is increasingly important these days, and you lose if you have bad service. This doesn't apply to places in the public service sector- like transport, postal service, banks, police- being a public good they have little competition and can afford to fail at being nice because you will still go to them because you need them, whether you like it or not! Inelastic demand~ It really pisses me off, too. >\
