I cannot wait to see the next part.

Because of course Jim is pragmatic and Sam knows it.

I like how smart Jim is, and how he knows he is so smart. But he does not get how stupid he is, it just does not occur to him. Because he still is just a kid and by his actions, I see him as a kid, even if he's a kid that had to grow up too soon.

Good work.

I'm working on another snippet in this verse. I'm fascinated by how somebody smart enough to Captain the flagship of an intergalactic fleet could come across like Jim does in the movie, and I kinda got carried away in my interpretations of how his brain might work.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you like the next part!

It's heartbreaking, knowing this ends right before Tarsus begins. I admired the style and narration of this very much. I especially liked how you fleshed out Sam and Jimmy's relationship, how they were both so smart and so troubled, and especially, especially this:

Sam is a genius, and Jimmy's something else, and they're both smart enough to know that sometimes you just have to hold on to what you have.

Beautifully, achingly well written.

I do look forward to reading more in this 'verse.

Thanks! I have a whole Tarsus arc planned out, which kind of intimidates me by its vary magnitude, but there'll be another piece of this verse soon.

This is fabulous! I love how you depict the relationship between Jimmy and Sam, and I now consider your Winona canon. Please write more in this 'verse!
