You know they have "disposable" digitals now, too, right? You buy them at like CVS or Ritz Camera (I think they're like $11), you use it, and then you return it when you get the photos developed and/or put on CD. It's the best of both worlds. They also have one-time-use digital camcorders too that they will put on DVD.
Also, you can always scan disposable film camera photos or get them on Photo CD. Or you can have digital photos "developed" pretty much anywhere.

Also, disposable is easier to carry and MUCH cheaper to replace.
