Oh! Gravity

OH! GRAVITY

Ok, it's time for my Oh! Gravity review. It came out on Christmas day (aka: it was pre-ordered for my little self on Christmas day) and was one of the best Christmas presents a kid like me could get. I've debated weather or not to make the statement I'm about to make for a while, but I realized a few things tonight that clinched it for ( Read more... )

The cut isn't working because you are in rich text mode. There is a button up top you can use that can make it an LJ cut when you are in rich text mode.

I find that I didn't like the song 'Circles'-- I just really didn't understand it. And how did you know Oh! Gravity. was about terrorism? I had no idea what that song was about.

My favorites? Let That Be Enough [I have it scheduled to play on April 20th (day before my birthday) in 2009 (when I turn 22-- sadly it won't be a thursday, I think it might be a tuesday..)] American Dream (heard that one live-- they did a sneak preview of new songs], Amateur Lovers, BURN OUT BRIGHT and AWAKENING. [Caps are my true favorites]

Favorite song still is Learning to Breathe. Hasn't changed. Doubt it ever will.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the line in Awakening of...

These dreams started singing to me out of nowhere, and I don't know if I ever felt so alive

I crave for something like that to happen to me. You have no idea how much I crave that. I honestly think that planted a seed in my brain because now I have ideas of what to do-- and how to try to talk to my pastor about making a youth group for college kids because we are so often forgotten.

Don't be mad at me... I haven't liked any of Switchfoot's new stuff since Nothing Is Sound...I've tried to get into that album and I just can't. I love all of their stuff before that album, though. I also think that they are incredible songwriters, but Jon is straining his voice too much. And even though I love Let That Be Enough, I can't ever listen to it, since they played it at my friend Matts funeral.

How could I be mad at you?? I've actually heard people say what you've said too, they didn't like NIS and Jon is straining his voice. I liked NIS and I really, really hope Jon takes care of that voice of his.

That is so sad about your friend though...I considered that song sad anyway, but those two combined would be too much for me. I'm sorry.

*hugs*

I am really excited to hear this new record in two weeks. It sounds like they've really delved deep into some touchy, but important topics. And I like how honest it all is. Of course, my bug is that they write lyrics that talk about wanting more from life and why is there so much trash in the world, etc. It seems like that asked AND answered that question more than normal in this CD, which is cool, but I still wonder about some of those songs. I loved that postmodern jab, haha. The stuff you notice after Summit! That reminds me of this hysterical story about TRCC that I forgot to tell you on the phone. Oh well, for another time. You would be getting your second mailing about WWW, but our computer/printer is down, so you'll have to wait, sorry! I'm dying of excitement!

Much Love,
Kaitlin

Well then, I'm very excited to show it to you. I think I know what you are talking about with the answering the questions that they pose (although I think they are prompting you to find the answers) I'd have to say that NIS was the album that did this the most. I'd also love to show you some songs from BEFORE Beautiful Letdown, just because I think you'd personally like them the most, as they almost always spell out the answer and are very straightfoward. There's a couple i have in mind that I think you'd really like.

I wanna hear your story AND get my WWW mail. hehe. That way I can start packing, right? Are you excited for skiing? I have these frightening images of us trying to atempt it, but we'll be ok, ehh? I'll have to bring my camera. haha.

I would really love to hear some old SF songs because I've heard from more people than you that they rock. The computer is back, so hopefully your mailing will be printed as soon as the printer is reconnected. Yes, it's less than two weeks, time to pack! Haha. I am excited for skiing......sort of. Not for the frightening images reason(don't try to scare me, here!), but because of what I had to do to my schedule to make is possible for me to go. I'm looking at 12hr. days out of the house Mon-Thurs. Please pray for me, I'm worried I won't have the strength to ski! So once I get there I'll be excited, but I just have to take one step and day at a time. My story has expanded, so it should be pretty good now, haha. I love you!
