don't forget

HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN?

I hear people saying we don't need this war
I say there's some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground?
We didn't get to keep 'em by backing down
They say we don't realize the mess we're getting in
Before you start preaching
Let me ask you this my friend

CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day

Wow, those are some pretty powerful words. Something that isn't said very much, but needs to be heard more. It's a pretty incredible song. Where did you find it?

It's a country song, so it plays there on the radio sometimes. I found it while searching for a different music video. I love the message and I agree with SO MUCH of it. Sometimes I feel like saying that to people.

Thanks,
Abby

I love the song that you are listening to right now [though the lyrics you typed out are also good.] They tend to overplay that song though on our country radio station.. :-/ Sorta loses meaning hearing it around 10+ times a day. Know what I mean?

I can't hear the song you are listening to without thinking of the movie Just Friends when Ryan Reynolds sings it. Makes me giggle everytime.

Aw, hee hee, it's a good song. I haven't seen Just Friends though.

Yeah, well, I figure most of my friends don't listen to the country station *shakes head* so they wouldn't know. LOL. But weeee know where it's at, and yes, they do play it a whole lot.

Psha. People who don't listen to country. They don't know what they are missing out.

Like Rascal Flatts ♥

Aaah, but we'll educate them before long. lol.

Those are really nice lyrics. Sometimes I feel like people complain about the war and say, "Oh, if I were President, I wouldn't do this," while never proposing what they would do. And how does complaining about the war help anything? Then you're not supporting the troops, either, you know?

God bless you today ♥

Exactly.

I may not know where I stand on the war, but I definently support our president and our troops. Period. They're in positions that deserve our respect and attention. Besides, we tend to forget SO easily.

Thanks for commenting. I miss you. Sorry I have been so horrible lately.

*hugs and blessings*

Definitely. We do forget, and it seems that, whenever adversity is not directly in front of us, we act in ways that we must again unlearn through more adversity. We tend to have short-term memory in that sense. :\

You have not been horrible at all. Don't worry about it a bit. I miss you, too, and hope everything's been well.

*hugs and blessings back!*

Yeah, I'm guilty of it as well. Forgetting is really easy to do, mostly when you, personally, didn't have anyone taken. Yet it's our job to remember the thousands of people who did.

Everything has been lovely.

I'm actually a bit offended by the song. I think it takes a lot of things and twists them. Personally, I am against the war. I'm all for finding those responsible for 9/11 and for finding Bin Laden and for never forgetting the heroes and those who suffered and died as a result of 9/11. I just don't see what the killing of innocent people and Iraq have to do with something that came out of an entirely different country. The official story now, anyhow, is that we're in Iraq to bring democracy to that country. I don't believe that, but I don't see how (if this administration is to be trusted) that has anything to do with 9/11.

I'm sorry you were offended my his song. I don't agree with everything he writes there, but enough to post the song. I also can totally see your point of view. Yet don't you think that we so easily forget the very real threat of terrorism after it occers? We all want to live happily together, but so many times that just isn't the real world.

Sorry, again that you were offended. It isn't why I post things.

*hugs*

Don't worry about it Abby. I agree with him actually, but I know that we all remember the day. The Administration has a take, a wrong one albeit on the subject, about the day and what power it gives them. But in the end, what I grab from the song, is that I will never forget the day as it was, and that I never should. And that what it shows us is that we should always be looking for ways of securing our God given Rights, and never let them go... No matter the cost.

Exactly John.

I'm glad it's what you took from the song.

It's what I did.
