Death

I've been thinking a lot about death lately. No, nothing specific, but as a general idea. Even typing that setance feels rediculous. How could something as present and every-day as death be considered an idea? Be honest: when I wrote that I was thinking about death a lot, you'd be lying if you're first thought wasn't "Why the HECK ( Read more... )

To Love you is to know you
To know is Divine...

A song we sing at YG... What's divine in the end, is that His divine everything compared to our losing everything that died at the garden, is the most glorious thought, and to think it superceeds death!

Since I read this note, you have got me thinking on different things. We've been baptized into a "Death". Something in us died. Day to Day we need to "die". Sometimes we don't think on death enough, because we don't think on it in the right way. And not merely "Laying down this flesh" but in that we have a destination every day we should strive to reach. And that death just gets us a step closer.

YES!! JOHN! Now we are so for sure on the same page. That's just totally another thing I forgot to mention in my post. Living sacrifice...one of my favorite phrases in the Bible. What is it? A living death. Constantly dying to yourself. Have you read Ted Dekker's triliogy Red, Black and White? They are amazing allagories, but a huge part is having to die to live...literally...sort of. Anyway, AMEN, yes.

It's so interesting, and I'm glad I got you thinking. Keep it up!

Found this via your icon journal.

This is a very good, thoughtful post... I thought you might be interested in seeing an entry on my blog as a sort of response. I don't know how directly it relates to this, now that I'm scanning it. But my dad sat us down a bit ago and had a talk about death and eternal life and Heaven and everything. So you might like to read this, since I think it's the first time he started talking about it. http://midenianscholar.livejournal.com/17529.html

Anyway, I'm glad God has been giving you the wisdom to acknowledge and contemplate these things. Most people can go through their whole life without really considering it.

(And Switchfoot rocks.)
