I've been thinking a lot about death lately. No, nothing specific, but as a general idea. Even typing that setance feels rediculous. Since I read this note, you have got me thinking on different things. We've been baptized into a "Death". Something in us died. Day to Day we need to "die". Sometimes we don't think on death enough, because we don't think on it in the right way. And not merely "Laying down this flesh" but in that we have a destination every day we should strive to reach. This is a very good, thoughtful post... I thought you might be interested in seeing an entry on my blog as a sort of response. I don't know how directly it relates to this, now that I'm scanning it. But my dad sat us down a bit ago and had a talk about death and eternal life and Heaven and everything. So you might like to read this, since I think it's the first time he started talking about it. http://midenianscholar.livejournal.com/17529.html
Anyway, I'm glad God has been giving you the wisdom to acknowledge and contemplate these things. Most people can go through their whole life without really considering it.
(And Switchfoot rocks.)
