After getting back from his adventure breaking and entering excursion totally innocent trip with a couple of schoolmates, Luke discovered that he was supposed to be looking out for one of the new students.

Skipping the picnic, Luke went racing towards the new guy's room and popped his head in.

"Michael?" he guessed.

He looked up from where he was stretched out on his bed, reading a battered paperback, and nodded.

"Hey. Yeah, I'm Michael."

"Hi," Luke said, smiling. "I'm Luke. The school assigned me to keep an eye out for you. This place can be a little overwhelming the first few weeks."

"The school does that?" He blinked. "Huh. That's new. Thought it was just an unofficial thing."
