They were well-intentioned, if perhaps overbearing, and the lack of interference was a relief for both of him. For entirely separate reasons.
She rounded the kitchen, popping over to give him a kiss to the cheek as she moved passed to dig through the cabinets. "Hey. What d'you fancy for dinner? Figured I'd cook, tonight, rather than take-away."

He put the book onto the counter and smiled. "No chips? I do believe that is a first." He tilted his head as he studied her. He didn't really have any clue. He just thought this was a weird change. "I was under the impression you did not cook well or intend to try."

She tugged out a cutting board and whirled around to the fridge without meeting his eye. Vegetables. She tossed them onto the counter, and went for a chopping knife. "Why? Don't have faith in me?"

Castiel pushed away from the counter and stepped back. It was curious behavior, but not cause for alarm. "I have faith, but I am cautious. You told me you'd just burn the apartment down." He cracked a smile.
