Ever since he was brought back things had been slowly changing. Good things were happening. It was good changes for the most part. He was talking more and more with Pete Tyler. The man was curious and he felt like maybe he could approach the former angel a little more with these questions. He actually liked Rose's father a great deal. He was nice ( Read more... )

Rose encouraged his relationship with Pete, her mother, Tony as well. She'd always been very much a family person, it was nice to be with somebody that enjoyed their company. They seemed genuinely fond of him, as well, once they moved on from the whole 'angel' thing. It had been a good idea to introduce him to Jackie a few times before dropping the bomb, and Pete had always been very adaptable.

They were well-intentioned, if perhaps overbearing, and the lack of interference was a relief for both of him. For entirely separate reasons.

She rounded the kitchen, popping over to give him a kiss to the cheek as she moved passed to dig through the cabinets. "Hey. What d'you fancy for dinner? Figured I'd cook, tonight, rather than take-away."

He lowered his book slowly and looked at her. Castiel had trouble with obvious signs at times, but he was learning. He was getting better at picking up on things. He had been around Rose for a while now. He knew certain things about her. She liked when he spoke Italian or Latin during sex. She was really into hugs and she did not cook.

He put the book onto the counter and smiled. "No chips? I do believe that is a first." He tilted his head as he studied her. He didn't really have any clue. He just thought this was a weird change. "I was under the impression you did not cook well or intend to try."

She glanced up at him from the cabinet, seemingly surprised at his question. Probably just surprised that he picked up on it, is all. She shrugged one shoulder. "Never too late for a hobby. Besides, keep eating out like that, it'll go straight downstairs. Nobody wants that. Have you seen my mum?"

She tugged out a cutting board and whirled around to the fridge without meeting his eye. Vegetables. She tossed them onto the counter, and went for a chopping knife. "Why? Don't have faith in me?"

Serious head tilt. Now it was getting a little weird and confusing. Rose was never one to talk about that kind of stuff. She certainly wasn't one to speak ill of her own mother. She loved her quite a bit. It was only ever said in a joking tone. That did not sound like a joking tone at all.

Castiel pushed away from the counter and stepped back. It was curious behavior, but not cause for alarm. "I have faith, but I am cautious. You told me you'd just burn the apartment down." He cracked a smile.
