It is not too long before he arrives, leaving Bonheur in the padock outside before opening the door and peering in to watch his lady wife for a moment.
What he saw was a woman distracted, having stripped the sheets from the bed, piled them on the floor and left them. Her worries were great, only realising he was present a moment after he arrived. For Marian it is a large gap, her eyes worried as they glance toward him. "Come," she holds a hand out to him, hoping it does not shake as she thinks it does, "we must talk."
It is not a reassuring way to start things, but she knows no other. These thoughts have been chasing themselves in her mind for hours, and she feels at a loss. "I am pregnant."
