My last day off (Things that have to be done, why can't I just enjoy myself sometimes?)

Today is my last day off and probably my second last day staying at Sammy's parents' place. We slept in quite late for us lately today (1:30), but hell, we didn't actually crash out until about three-thirty or four this morning. I think I'm going to use the fact that I'm on this Dilantin stuff to give myself an excuse to see how long I can go ( Read more... )

if you haven't heard the dj screw mix of David Banner's 'Mississippi The Album' you should. i adored it for a while till i listened to it too much and it melted off the david banner bit of my brain. rap is funny like that.

also i do believe your right when you say you are only as trapped as you feel. but it's more like you only feel trapped because inside your mind you are letting your .self. become trapped.... i constantly have the same problem so i don't know what kind of advice i can offer.. i find that i have problems finding the drive to accomplish things, which is a nuisance, and makes me feel crappy. but regardless, all you have to realise is that you are free, and that you should take advantage of what you have, and spin that into something you feel is needed.

you know :)

It's good to hear from you again....

It sounds like you are on the right track to making yourself feel "untrapped". Things take time, but you will be amazed at how quickly you will get there. You may not feel like you are accomplishing anything at the moment, but sitting down and figuring out what you want/need to do is a accomplishment in itself. Good Luck and kudos. =)

Also, I was wondering - where do you find out about zines?

Thanks for your words of kindness. It feels good to be able to relate to others during rough times.
If you wanna learn more about zines there are so many places you could go. Here are a few:

http://www.zinebook.com/ --- Chip Rowe's Book of zines. Tons of info here.

www.microcospublishing.com -- American zine distro. Major source/resource, excellently put together site.

http://www.grrrlzines.net/ --- Basically just as it's called. Another good resource.

www.brokenpencil.com --- A Canadian review magazine about alternative culture and zine reviews galore. They review my zine, Alien Basement Food a few times over the years....

Hope that helps dearie.

<3 Ashley.
