i'm very sad to learn, upon my return to internet land, that many good people have deleted their journals. so much has happened since that long may 10th post. where do i begin? i know i need to write it all out. not for anyone's interest. just for myself and to put it all down in the memory bank that is life. big sigh.

Very good, thanks. Just came back from a week of hiking and freediving, it felt delightful to take my head off books for a while. I am writing the dissertation at the moment, and my daughter is spending the summer with me as usual. I haven't had the chance to catch up on your updates yet, but will do in the near future. I hope things have settled for you.
