so in the mail tonight, on this day of local democracy in action (i.e., primary elections), I get the full weight of disenfranchisement for not being a democrat/dc statehood member. On top of my independent = no vote for you status, I get the notice in the mail for jury duty again ( Read more... )

somehow that may be confiscated at security
I may get by with something that Q or R develops though

(today's jury has been brought to you by the letters Q and R and the number 15-20, cuz that's how long you're in for...)

I'm an independent and I went ahead and voted, in DC, yesterday. They put my ballot in a "Secrecy Envelope" and then sealed that in another which complained that I was not on the Master Register. I asked if it was b/c I'm registered independent and they told me "Vote anyway, we let downtown deal with that..." So I voted, I got a sticker. I'll just about do anything for a sticker.

the Reeves center at 14th and U seemed more disorganized than the last around. Then again, that is downtown.

But perhaps the real question is if you'll do anything for a sticker, what will you do for a Klondike bar?

PS are you ever going to come out some Friday or Saturday night and visit/dance?
