The promised Evolution spoilers!
Under a cut, 'cause I'm a VERY CONSIDERATE HO'.
Of course, the chapter starts with Lina, Gourry, Pocota and Duclis!Zanaffar (clarification: the previous chapter seemed to imply Duclis had lost his sense of "self" - this chapter proves, in many cases, that this is not the case.) arriving at Taforasia. Rezo, as in the anime, requests of Pocota to give him his body so that he may be able to use his magic, because Pocota's is the only body that has the capacity to hold Rezo and his magic. All goes well, and Rezo, in Pocota's body, greets Ozel and praises her for her work thus far, and the doll begins to break, having fulfilled her purpose. (She is pleased by this!) but when he touches the doll, she begins to shatter, much to both of their surprise. (Ozel is still an active participant in the upcoming fight.)
At this point, Rezo realizes that something is horribly wrong.... his eyes begins to glow red, and he freaks right the hell out - "Lina Inverse!" he cries out, "Destroy me, hurry!" and at this point, we discover why Rezo had been seeking Lina out - so that in the case that his soul still contained a piece of Shabranigdo, as he feared, she would be available to dispose of him. But even as he cries out, it's already too late. Shabranigdo has fully controlled him... as much as this "Shabranigdo" is able to. Ruby eye (eh, it's shorter.) begins blowing all sorts of shit up, and Xelloss shows up out of nowhere and immediately begins pelting the bad-boy with cones and all sorts of crap. Lina's all like, "WTF ARE YOU DOING, HE'S YOUR DADDY" and Xelloss is like, "NUH UH, THAT'S NOT MY DADDY NO MORE!" Uh, anyway. Xelloss explains that the Ruby Eye they're up against is nothing more than a bat-shit crazy, reasonless doll which happens to possess the full extent of Shabranigdo's power, as when Lina was sucked into Rezo's jar and Shabranigdo attempted to (and succeeded, for a moment) possess her, he came into contact with a "fragment of immense power" within Lina (the "footprints" LoN had left on Lina's soul), which eroded a large chunk of the Demon Lord's soul/piece, WTF ever you feel like calling it, until all that was left were his power levels (WHICH WERE OVER N-N-N-N-NINE THOUSAND). Something like that, Xelloss explained, would not be able to grant the Mazoku the destruction they desired, and so he had set out to destroy it. (As, I believe, one of his missions. IDK, I kinda forgot, and I don't have the magazine with me right now, hurr hurr.)
ANYWAY, THIS IS GETTING REALLY LONG AND WHILE I ENJOY RAMBLING AND SPOILING EVERYONE, I MAY BE TAKING THIS A LITTLE FAR, LAWL.
So now, OUTLINE MODE!
-EVERYONE BRAWLS
-Lina refuses to use the Giga Slave, as the risk involved just isn't worth it to her. (YAY LINA)
-Pocota attempts a Dragon Slave against Ruby Eye, Lina's all like WTF, but this gives the kid an idea.
-Ozel, at Pocota's request, busts the urn containing Pocota's soul, and he enters his body along with Rezo. The two of them work together and physically hold back Shabranigdo's influence, weakening him.
-Lina, meanwhile, isn't able to use any offensive spells against Shabby because of the protective barrier of Miasma surrounding him.
-Gourry rides Zanaffar (whom Zanaffar dubs the "Swordsman of Light." It's pretty freaking epic, I'll tell you what.) to launch a direct attack on Shabby. However, Gourry isn't able to strike Shabby himself (because of the miasma, I think it was) so Duclis matches HIS miasma against Shabby's and orders the "Swordsman of Light" (heehheeheheh) to pierce through his body to strike Shabby himself. Gourry, being the bad-ass mother that he is, doesn't even hesitate (UNNNFFFF, GOD I LOVE HYOUJU'S GOURRY) and attacks the both of them. The tactic works, and Shabby is severely weakened.
-Duclis is thrown against that huge tree that Taforasia's built around, and, with his dying breath, orders it - A FREAKING FLAGOON, IT TURNS OUT - to absorb his miasma and be awakened. The tree bursts into leaf, and absorbs Zanaffar along with Shabby's miasma barrier. As he lies there, Duclis' wife appears before his eyes and smiles at him. "Welcome home," she says, softly. Duclis closes his eyes and answers, "I'm home," and dies.
AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH I BAWWED LIKE SUCH A LITTLE BITCH. ;_; OH HELL, I'M BAWWING AGAIN. 'SCUSE ME WHILE I GO COMPOSE MYSELF. *sniffle* On that note, Duclis is hands-down my favorite character in Revolution/Evolution. Manga only, of course. He sucked in the anime. HARD.
-Pocota and Rezo (who, together, have managed to restrain Shabby enough so that they're able to control Pocota's body to some extent) cry out to Lina to use the Dragon Slave and kill the both of them, while they still have the capacity to wish for their "deaths". (Very much akin to Luke's predicament, BTW.)
-Shabby, at this point, launches an attack at Lina as she begins to cast her spell, and she can only react in pretty much abject terror because, hi, how do you defend against that shit? When Xelloss and Gourry sandwich her inbetween them (=D) and defend her. (Xelloss raises his staff above her head and blocks half of the attack, while Gourry is in front defending with the Sword of Light. SERIOUSLY, SERIOUSLY A COOL FREAKING SHOT) And then we hear a double RA TILT (YEAH, MOTHERFUCKERS) and Zel and Amelia (they're all like, "hay guys! we made it =D") flank Lina from the sides. (HOLY SHIT, YOU GUYS, THIS WAS SERIOUSLY THE COOLEST THING IN THE WOOOOORLD)
-Lina activates her talismans and casts the super-powered Dragon Slave at Shabranigdo. The coolest part is at the end, where Lina fiddles with the incantation a bit (well, not really. It probably doesn't count, since she tacked it on to the end of the spell) and after the "hitoshiku horobi wo ataen koto wo" bit says, "Rezo wo horobi[...]"
-Rezo accepts the attack, but just before both he and Pocota succumb to their D00M, he touches Pocota on the forehead and activates... something. (MORE ON THIS LATER)
-Rezo looks back at Zelgadis with a sad smile. God, I wish I could remember this line exactly, because it was just amazing.
To the best I can remember, this is what he says to Zelgadis (in his head):
"I'm sure that I would only make you angry if you were to hear me say this...
But in truth, I am envious of you.
The first light to reach these eyes of mine was not the burning red of twilight....
No, it was the light of you and your friends."
And on that note, Hyouju draws an amazing Rezo. (And Xelloss, for that matter. They both looked spectacular in this chapter.)
-Shabby is completely destroyed, and Rezo along with him.
-Later, as Rezo's sleeping spell has been broken due to his complete death, Amelia directs medicine into Taforasia, courtesy of Seyruun, facilitating the restoration of the people.
-As earlier implied in the manga, the king of Taforasia indeed passed away earlier due to the disease, and leading the people in his stead is.... DUCLIS!?
-When Rezo touched Pocota's forehead while they were... doing their thing, wherever the hell you want to say they were, he transferred Pocota's soul into Duclis's body (At this point, Lina recalls how shocked they all were to see Duclis burst from the rubble of Castle Taforasia, cursing all the while), as well as a portion of Rezo's own knowledge. Kind of an inheritance thingie.
-Lina asks if Pocota intends to live his life as "Duclis" from now on, which PoClis (yeah, let's call him that XD) confirms. The prince, as far as PoClis has told anyone, is studying abroad, and he'll be leading the people in his stead. D=
-PoClis apologizes to Zel for not being to provide him with a way to cure his body, despite having Rezo's knowledge, but promises to help him look for it as much as he can. "So you'd better come back here, got it!?" (XD PoClis. So cute.)
-On that note, seeing a smack-talking Duclis is hot. Just... HOT. GOD, I love Hyouju's Duclis!
-Everyone goes their separate ways, Lina and Gourry going back to continue their search for a new sword (Lina tells PoClis not to carry too much of a burden on his own - He snarkily replies that she's one to talk. x3), and Zel and Amelia return to Seyruun, together. (Yeah, yeah, they didn't split up. Dorks.)
-At the very end, PoClis (really sad that everyone's splitting up, DAWWW) asks Lina how much longer her journey will last.... her reply?
"It will never end!" (Owari ha shinai!)

Good LORD, I LOVE EVOLUTION. REVOLUTION CAN KISS MY ASS, BUT GOOD LAWD, EVOLUTION MADE UP FOR IT. Uh, let's see, other information. OH YAH, at the end of the chapter, unless I'm completely mis-reading it, it was announced that there will be a special epilogue (or after-story, at the very least) to the manga included in the volume of Evolution set to be released on June, uh, sixth, I think it was. Oh, BTW, I'm pretty sure I got most of that summary out of order. Eh, it's almost three in the morning, and I'm PRETTY FREAKING TIRED. But whatever.
Chapter one of Falces is pretty much done at this point, like I said, but I can't release it until Melly QCs it... and unfortunately, Melly will be busy with finals this week and the next, and won't be able to read it over.
