Finally! Results are here! Thank you to everyone who voted! There is still a tie, so the people's choice will be rewarded two points each and there will be no mod's choice.
#04: I know it's the easiest thing to highlight with Tsuna but I love the way the oranges & yellows stand out with the black. #04: The bright orange really makes this icon stand out and overall, it has good contrast for a black-and-white icon. The flame on his head ends a bit abruptly, though - it could fade more smoothly into the background. #04: I feel like I want to say "zoom!" or "shoom!" or something; this icon has a lot of motion to it, and it came across well in the elements that were colored vs. the elements left black and white. Since the contest was about black and white and a little color, I felt that this icon used the contest theme to best advantage.
Additional: #04: I love the idea to keep the color in Tsuna's eyes as they match with his flames. However, I feel that the way the icon is cropped makes the selective coloring in the icon seem excessive. If Tsuna were smaller or if less of the flames used colors, this icon would have been beautiful
#01: The colour contrast. It's striking. #01: It's a good idea of making a negative space icon while having less color also, i like the texture #01: Once again I love the far crop and the simplicity of the icon. If anything was wrong with the icon I would say that the text is hard to read. #01: I really adore the composition of this icon, though I wish a little less negative space were used/I wish Mukuro was a little larger.
Additional: #01: I would have loved this icon if Mukuro were larger. Although everything is well done, the excessive negative space becomes distracting and even overshadows the fact that Mukuro is even there.
