She was starting to believe that coincidence was toying with her when she came across a figure that had come to be familiar -- if familiarity could be acquired after a random encounter and a conversation between publishers at a formal event -- walk through the main doors of the complex. For some reason, however, Uni did not do as logic cautioned and proceed on her way, but instead paused to see if he would recognize her, drawn as much by morbid curiosity as a strange desire to see whether she would be able to pull off another conversation without giving too much away.

The bodyguards obediently stepped away, though they did not look too happy about it. Then again, they hadn't been looking all too happy about things since the awards night; she supposed it couldn't be helped.

Yamamoto yawned as he headed out of the carpark to the main entrance of the shopping mall. He had been working late last night with Security department on some issues that had cropped up which ended up with a group of them at a local bar. Luckily he rarely got hangovers so he was only sleepy, and didn't have a headache. Yamamoto would have liked to sleep in, but he had errands to run, so here he was.

As he was about to go through the double doors of the mall, he stumbled on an uneven patch of cement ground and knocked right into the back of a passerby.

"Oops! Sorry about that!" He apologized. Yamamoto blinked at the figure that he had just ran into before his face lighting up in a smile. "Oh hey, Fuuta-kun! Good morning!"

Fuuta didn't fall when Yamamoto knocked into him but he lost his grip on his errand list, which fluttered to the feet of a shopper who had somehow also stopped near the main entrance of the mall. "Yamamoto-san," Fuuta greeted, turning to face the older man before looking around for his piece of paper. "What are you doing he-"

He broke off when he spotted a familiar throng of black suits in the distance, and the shopping list his mother had given him lying at the feet of Giglionero Uni.

If he hadn't noticed her before he would surely see her now. Uni bit back her resigned sigh, briefly pondered whether it would be ruder to take the slip of paper herself or wait for him to come for it, reminded herself that one day her curiosity would be the death of her, thought again, thought -- then, waving the bodyguards away, bent and picked up the piece of paper.

She made it a point not to look at whatever was written on it. Uni Giglionero, co-CEO of Millefiore & Company, did not pry. Especially not into the business of Vongola employees, namely one Fuuta de la Stella and a dark-haired young man who was probably the one whose smile in file photos was the sunniest (and most cheerfully oblivious) among Vongola management: Yamamoto Takeshi.
