Woot, election day . I've already cast my vote. Not that it's likely to count since the guy who holds the electorate I live in never loses, although he may come close this time after wasting $640,000 of taxpayer money on taxifares, magazine subscriptions and overseas trips ( Read more... )

I keep checking Google to see who's won. Apparently, it looks like the Ginger is going to win, but it hasn't been officially decided? I hope she does, it'll make it very difficult to me if a xenophobe is the prime minister when I try to get a business visa. *roffles* YOU MIGHT HAVE TO MARRY ME RIGHT OFF IF HE WINS! Just kidding. I think. I hope, since that wouldn't be the ideal situation.

Yeah at this point we have no idea since it's a hung parliment. The two major parties are in negotiations with the smaller parties, but hopefully that does look positive since many of the smaller parties are in support of Labour's (the ginger's party) national broadband network. The Green's who hold a pretty decent balance of power also seem pretty supportive of Labour so I hope things turn out alright.
If Labour can win and show themselves to be a reliable government for the next 3 years I feel that they'll have another chance to make it back in at the next election too (in case Abbot remains in power for the Liberals).

I read on some news site that 'sources' say that it looks like Gillard has 51% of the vote or something. But that could be complete shit, I have no idea.
AND I JUST LEARNED, YOU GUYS HAVE A SEX PARTY? DO TELL! And you have a Family First party, which needs to die in a fire.
Hopefully, Gillard wins. And she's an atheist? How cutting edge~

Yeah but those numbers don't mean much. She needs the support of the independants and greens to win.
Yes we do, many people voted for them just because it said sex. I think where the future of our country is concerned there's more important things than the word sex.
Yes we do have a family first party, you guys have them and their theocratical ways too?
Yes and she's female, unmarried and an atheist.
But it's sad how quickly people forgot that the labour party are the reason they still have a job, that our country never went into recession. It's just 'OMG they didn't do what I wanted when wanted so therfore they suxxorz!'
