Where have all the intellectuals gone?

Well after a very thought provoking question posed by my good friend Eric V., I was inspired for an entry. I admit these entries tend to take their toll on me mentally. John and I struggle with this issue quite a bit. It amazes us time and again how young people have such a lack of understanding of the things that truly matter. Unfortunately, I believe that most of this is due to previous generations who have constantly pushed God out of our homes, schools, work and even in church (not that young people don’t still need to answer for their actions). We have placed priorities on temporary things that have no value. We rather relax than move. I feel not embarrassed for your generation, but sad. We, as adults, have given them nothing to motivate, teach or influence their lives. That is why God calls us to go and make disciples. We must tell others about God and once they believe help they gain a right relationship with the Lord. We must show them that there is more to life and that they have purpose. Sin destroys; it should be no surprise that it has left us in the place that we are. When people turn their back on God they turn to foolishness.
