Brian Williams was gravely saying, "Remember, once a person has been bitten, they must be shot in the head before they die and reanimate." Of all the ways he'd imagined the world ending, this one had never entered Sam's mind. It's the zombie apocalypse, and Sam, Dean and Castiel are just trying to get to Bobby's in one piece. And not undead.
This one is a little longer than I usually rec but if, like me, you love a good old-fashioned zombie apocalypse, it's definitely worth taking a couple of hours to read. baylorsr expertly blends action and humor together to create a fabulous gen adventure you'll find hard to put down. As well as spot-on character voices for all three members of Team Free Will, this also features hilarious cameo appearances from Gabriel, Lucifer and Meg, among others. The icing on the cake is one of my favorite takes on the Dean-and-Cas relationship as it appears in canon -- in the author's own words, "while Dean and Castiel can make Sam kind of uncomfortable, this is strictly a gen story." A must-read, for sure.
