So, got one of my ancient watches back from the watchmaker who had it for months.  Problem was that it's lugs were only 3mm apart, which was what a lot of the tiny metal bracelets were, back in the day.  But even for using one of those, you would need a spring bar or something to go into the tiny holes in the lugs.  They don't make spring bars that ( Read more... )

Sorry, but I have to leave my own comment. It's a 99 year old watch. It runs. It is accurate to within 10 seconds in 24 hours. Holy crap! Isn't that just totally cool in itself? As in TOTALLY cool!

I used to have a watch with one of those teeny 3mm metal bracelets. It had been my grandmothers and was probably a little younger than your lovely Rolex, likely late 20s or early 30s (plus it wasn't a Rolex). I think the numerals used the same font/typeface though, it looks very familiar. If I still had it I would show it to you, but some bastard stole it while I was in Prague right after college.
