What keeps us, Americans (I specify Americans becuase too much organization would have to go into an international effort) from setting up a relief network for domestic refugeesin times of disaster or otherwise? If people were willing to open their homes to strangers in need, in times of disaster, such a network would eliminate, or at least ease ( Read more... )

Rachel we are way to alike...even for out own good

I was telling my mom how it would be cool if we had a refugee camp in every state for a natural disaster, one that allows animals on the fact that so many people didnt leave because of their pets, and what I said is along the lines of what you said,not quite but a lot a like...

...... and was thinking,it would be cool to start a a fund raiser except I don't have the funds to ,not to mention its hard to actually find people willing to help

Plus I was planning on at least donating a couple of bucks with the little I do have right now.

Well anyway I think you have a great idea.
And I will join.

Even so much as being able to knit scarfs and hats and stuff for the victims.

Another added fact is that the country says we cant do anything to get the food,well we could always do food drops thats what we do in third world countries so why not here.
