with the rain on the roof i soaked in the tub for hours in the middle of the night. it was too loud to sleep. then i wrapped in a sheet and laid on the floor listening to records. the lights around my bedpost made shadows down across the carpet and i stretched my body out to reach them. i wasn't tired and i wasn't sad.

i saw a girl on the train that reminded me of you. she kind of curled up around a book and flashed in & out of sunlight breaks while behind her, the bronx lumbered by.

or at least reminded me of the pictures i've seen of you.
